Meet Dr. Carly
Get to know Dr. Carly a little better.

Carly Peterschmidt, DMD

Dr. Carly graduated with a Doctorate in Dental Medicine at the Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) in Portland, OR in 2014. She received awards for community service and endodontics during her time in dental school. Her undergraduate Bachelor of Health Sciences degree was from the Oregon Institute of Technology (OIT), where she graduated Summa Cum Laude and was awarded the prestigious President’s Senior Cup Award of Health, Arts & Sciences. Dr. Carly also was a scholar athlete in Women’s Soccer at OIT. Dr. Carly is from Medford, Oregon, where she was a valedictorian of South Medford High School in 2006.
Dr. Carly has a multi-faceted background in dentistry, having experience in various private practice, public health, non-profit, academic, and volunteer settings prior to acquiring this practice from Dr. Amy McDaniel in 2017. Dr. Carly enjoys working with all types of people and age groups and offers her skills in preventative and restorative dentistry, as well as oral surgery, endodontics, and removable prosthodontics.
No matter what setting she practices in, Dr. Carly hopes to provide excellent dental care in a comfortable and friendly environment to help patients achieve a lifetime of oral and overall health. We have adopted this as our mission statement.
Outside of the office, Dr. Carly is active in the dental community as Treasurer for the Lane County Dental Society and as a member of the Exploring Excellence Seattle Study Club. These organizations allow her to grow as a dentist by studying the latest dental information and technologies through the form of continuing education classes. Dr. Carly also has a long-standing relationship with White Bird Dental, the only public health dental clinic in Lane County. She served there from 2014-2020, helping to launch the mobile children’s dental clinic for the Bethel School District in 2015, as well as serving patients at the Serbu Youth Detention and Willamette Family Drug & Alcohol Treatment Centers, and volunteering at their COVID-19 vaccine clinic in 2021.
On a personal level, Dr. Carly is an active member of her church and enjoys supporting their outreach efforts in our community and globally. She also participates in indoor and outdoor soccer through various city leagues and is a season ticket holder of the Portland Thorns. Dr. Carly spends much of her free time with her husband, Tyler (who is also a dentist), and Golden Retrievers, Murphy and Riley. She also enjoys hiking, camping, travel, crafts, movies, and eating great food with friends and family.
