Root Canal Treatment
Root canals are performed if the nerve within a tooth is irreversibly irritated, or dead and infected. During a root canal, the nerve tissue and bacteria are cleaned out and a filling is placed inside.
After root canal treatment, a build-up filling and crown are typically indicated as well to improve the strength and longevity of the tooth and root canal.
We perform simple root canals in our office, but if a tooth has a complex root canal system, curved roots, or other perceived complications exist, we may refer you to a root canal specialist called an endodontist.
